What is Brow Lift?
A brow lift is a common procedure in which the areas around and in between the eyebrows are treated for wrinkles and lift. It’s common practice for physicians to use Botox injections and/or dermal fillers to accomplish a brow lift non-surgically. The result is diminished wrinkles around the eyebrows as well as elevated eyebrows that help accentuate and brighten the eyes.
Brow lifts are often performed using the power of Botox. Botox is an injectable neurotoxin which helps provide mild paralysis and relaxation to the muscles in a given area. By injecting Botox around the eye regions of the face, the muscles that contribute to wrinkles will relax and the droopiness of the eyelids will lift. The brow lift is primarily due to the relaxation of these muscles while allowing the forehead muscles to pull up with more force on the muscles around the eyes thereby elevating the brows. All of this helps brighten and reinvigorate the eyes, leaving patients looking youthful and jubilant.
Brow lifts can also be done using dermal fillers. Dermal fillers allow for what is sometimes called a liquid brow lift. This is because dermal fillers are specially formulated to provide hydration and volume to a treatment area. By strategically injecting dermal fillers behind/beneath the brow, volume increases can cause the brow to lift and elevate, helping treat drooping eyelids and wrinkles. Dermal filler injections can also be provided to the temple area to allow subtle lifting of the eyebrows. This helps brighten the eyes and restore youth to a patient’s appearance.
