What is Midface Lift (Cheek/Malar Lift)?
Non-surgical midface lifts involve the use of dermal fillers to increase the volume in the cheek/malar regions of the face. Doing so can help combat some notable signs of aging in the cheeks, such as bone loss, loss of fat and tissues. Midface lift can also have profound effects on winkles and sagging skin as well as improving the jowly appearance in the lower face.
Dermal fillers are specially formulated to provide hydration and volume to a treatment area. By strategically injecting dermal fillers in certain midfacial regions affected by volume loss, wrinkles and sagging, volume increases can cause the cheeks to lift and lower face droop to soften, restoring youthfulness to the face.
Dermal filler treatments are generally well-tolerated, quick, and quite safe. Treatments are administered after the area is cleansed and prepped for the procedure. Topical numbing can be applied to the desired treatment areas to minimize any discomfort. Dermal fillers themselves are medicated with a small dose of lidocaine which adds additional numbing to the treatment area as well.
