Restylane Lyft
A versatile filler FDA approved for the face and the hands
What is Restylane Lyft?
Restylane Lyft is one of many products in the Restylane family of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. Restylane Lyft is a specialized cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler used to restore volume and smooth moderate-to-deep wrinkles and skin folds.
This versatile dermal filler is the first to achieve FDA approval for both hand and facial treatment, which can even be administered in the same appointment.
Is Restylane Lyft different from Perlane?
You may have heard of Perlane before – Restylane Lyft is simply the rebranded name for “Perlane” to keep all Restylane products under the same family name. It’s simply the same product with a new name.
How does Restylane Lyft differ
from other Restylane products?
Restylane and Restylane Lyft are both hyaluronic acid fillers in the Restylane product family. The main difference between the two is how hyaluronic acid (HA) is formulated. The different HA formulations make each product better-suited for different facial treatment areas. Restylane Lyft’s formula consists of gel particles that are larger and more cross-linked than standard Restylane. The higher cross-linked HA in Restylane Lyft allows for a more tightly bound gel, increasing its ability to stay put at the injection site. This improves its durability and attracts more hydration to the area, providing a more natural volume replacement. The larger particles also create more volume, which is great for tackling deeper wrinkles and folds.
Restylane Lyft’s formula also includes a small amount of lidocaine for increased comfort during injection, similar to the other Restylane fillers.
How long do results last?
In a clinical study reported by RestylaneUSA, 73% of patients reported improvement 12 months after initial treatment with Restylane Lyft in facial areas. Using Restylane Lyft for hand treatments, 76% of patients reported improvements 6-9 months after treatment. That being said, generally, this filler holds up about 12 months before it may require follow-up treatment in the face and 6-9 months for the hands.
Where is Restylane Lyft commonly used?
Restylane Lyft is a very versatile filler and has many potential applications. It is most commonly used to treat deep wrinkles in the nasolabial creases, marionette lines, scars, facial depressions, volume depletion of the cheeks, chin, hands, and much more.
Are there side effects to be aware
of with Restylane Lyft?
According to the Restylane website, the most commonly observed side effects are swelling, redness, pain, and bruising at the injection site. These are typically quite mild, and they should dissipate within several days depending on the treatment site. Dr. Brandish uses a soft-tipped cannula when injecting dermal fillers which makes the procedure much safer to administer.
More information about side effects can be found on Restylane USA’s website.
