Restylane Silk
For finer lines around the mouth and lips
What is Restylane Silk?
Restylane Silk is one of many products in the Restylane family of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers.
Restylane Silk is an FDA-approved dermal filler for lines and wrinkles around the mouth area. It’s specially designed to treat very fine lines that may occur around the mouth or on the lips.
How does Restylane Silk differ from
other Restylane products?
Restylane and Restylane Silk are both hyaluronic acid fillers in the Restylane product family.
Restylane Silk, however, utilizes cutting-edge, small-particle hyaluronic acid which makes it the perfect filling agent for fine lines and delicate wrinkles, such as those found around the mouth and above the lips i.e “smoker lines”. Its hyaluronic acid formula allows for softening these fine lines while providing more durability, volume, and increased longevity.
How is Restylane Silk commonly used?
Skin changes with age and the lips are no exception. As a very sensitive area of skin, the lips are very vulnerable to loss of volume, fine line/wrinkle formation, changes in shape, and thinning. Because of the delicacy of these changes, a very fine solution is required to restore youth naturally back to the lips.
Restylane Silk is the perfect tool for treating these fine details. With its small-particle hyaluronic acid, it provides a wonderful fine-tuning capability that can smooth and plump up the lips and areas around the mouth.
How long do results last?
In a clinical study reported by RestylaneUSA, 77% of patients reported noticeable improvements in lip volume 6-12 months after initial treatment with Restylane Silk. That being said, generally, this filler holds up to a year before it may require follow-up treatment.
Are there side effects to be aware
of with Restylane Silk?
According to the Restylane website, the most commonly observed side effects are swelling, redness, pain, and bruising at the injection site. These are typically quite mild, and they should dissipate within several days depending on the treatment site. Dr. Brandish may use a soft-tipped cannula to inject Restylane Silk to minimize bruising and downtime. Also at Brandish Clinic, the Accuvein light is used to view surrounding blood vessels during injection to further minimize the risk of bruising and provide safer treatment.
More information about side effects can be found on Restylane USA’s website.
